Girard man seriously injured after being hit by car on US 422

A Girard pedestrian was seriously injured after being struck by a vehicle in Trumbull County late Saturday night.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol responded to a crash at 11 p.m. on U.S. Route 422 near a Speedway service station.

A Chevrolet minivan, operated by Jackson Williams, 75, of Niles hit Zhuquin Dong, 44, as Dong was leaving the gas station's parking lot onto the highway.

Zhuqin was transported to St. Elizabeth Health Center in Youngstown with serious injuries.

Williams was not injured.

The crash remains under investigation.
