Toddler missing

NORTH BLOOMFIELD

The Trumbull County Sheriff’s office is actively searching for a missing 2-year-old girl. Rainn Peterson, who lives with her grandparents, was last seen at 7759 state Route 45 at about 7:20 p.m. It appears she walked away from the home, according to Trumbull County 911. She was last seen wearing a purple long-sleeved shirt, gray pants and multi-colored shoes.

Riverside cleanup

WARREN

Friends of the Mahoning River and the Trumbull Neighborhood Partnership will have a riverside cleanup from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. today at Packard Park. The groups will clean up litter and trash along the shore of the Mahoning and remove brush and weeds and trim trees. Participants are urged to arrive at 9 a.m. at the north end of Packard Park near the pedestrian bridge, and to bring their own pruners, weed trimmers, rakes, wheelbarrows or other useful tools, if available. Refreshments will be provided.

Election forum

YOUNGSTOWN

The Junior Civic League and the Community Mobilization Coalition will host a forum for candidates and issues on the Nov. 3 ballot at 6:30 p.m. Monday at New Bethel Baptist Church, 1507 Hillman St. Those running for Youngstown City Council and school board seats are invited to attend. Representatives will speak about the city school district, Mahoning County mental health, and county board of development disabilities renewal levies and Mill Creek MetroParks renewal-and-additional levy.

Veterans benefits

AUSTINTOWN

Representatives from the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs will explain benefits available to area veterans at the Tri-State Marine Detachment 494 meeting at 7 p.m. Tuesday, at the Saxon Club, 710 S. Meridian Road.

Smile Station visit

STRUTHERS

The Smile Station, a mobile dental van through St. Elizabeth Youngstown Hospital, will make a stop at Struthers Elementary School Monday, Thursday and Friday. Free dental services, including X-rays, cleaning, sealings and exams, will be available to all elementary-school students. The services are covered by insurance and financial aid, according to a press release. Guardians must fill out and return dental enrollment forms sent out by the school. Immunizations

WARREN

Warren City Health District, 418 Main Ave. SW, is offering childhood immunization clinics from 9 to 11 a.m. and 1 to 3 p.m. Monday; 9 to 11 a.m. and 1 to 3 p.m. Nov. 2 and 16; and 9 to 11 a.m. and 1 to 3 p.m. Dec. 7. A special clinic day is from 8 a.m. to noon Oct. 28. The Oct. 18 children’s immunization clinic is canceled and will be rescheduled at a later date. All clinics are walk-in. No appointment is needed. The child should be well and free of fever, rash or illness. An updated shot record is required. There is a $10 fee; Medicaid cards are accepted.
