ASSOCIATIONS

American Association of University Women, Youngstown Branch, will meet at 9:45 a.m. Saturday in the lower level large meeting room of the Public Library of Youngstown and Mahoning County, 305 Wick Ave., Youngstown. LEAGUES

Poland Junior Women’s League will meet at 7 p.m. Monday at Glenellen Senior Living, 9661 Market St., Boardman. Members are asked to take a candy bar or two for the GFWC/Ohio Federation of Women’s Clubs Northeast District Fall Conference Trick or Treat for USO for the troops at the local USO at the Youngstown Air Reserve Base. Members also are asked to wear pink in recognition of Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Hostesses are Margaret Cherol and Debbie Weaver. The club is open to all women over 18 who reside in Mahoning, Trumbull or Columbiana counties and are interested in friendship, fun and community involvement.

LIBRARY FRIENDS

Friends of Poland Library will meet Tuesday in the meeting room of the Poland Library. Coffee hour will be followed by a 10 a.m. business meeting with a program presented by the Butler Institute of American Art. Members are asked to take a salad, fruit or casserole with serving spoons for a potluck luncheon. Officers will provide dessert. Donations of books, magazines, CDs and DVDs are accepted at all meetings for the Friends of the Poland Library book cart. Dues are $10 each year and new members are welcome.

RELIGIOUS GROUPS

Community Christian Women will begin its 43rd year at 12:30 p.m. Oct. 12 at the Upper Room Fellowship. Mrs. Carrie Pennington will speak on “The Women at the Well.” Lunch will be served for a donation of $7. Kayla Aluise, a licensed dietitian and nutritionist at the cancer centers of Mercy Health, will be the featured speaker. She will discuss nutrition for cancer patients before, during and following treatment. Prostate cancer survivor Steve Burbrink will facilitate the conversation.
