Two indicted on aggravated robbery charges

A Mahoning County grand jury Thursday indicted two men in a series of robberies on the North Side in August.

Jarel Gadson, 20, of Alameda Avenue was indicted on five counts of aggravated robbery with firearm specifications while co-defendant Deandre Smith faces a single count of aggravated robbery.

Gadson is a suspect in a series of robberies of Youngstown State University students near campus in August, as well as the robbery of a man who went to a Tyrell Avenue apartment complex on the West Side on Aug. 25 to meet someone he made an arrangement with to sell a pair of shoes. Smith was one of the people who robbed that person, police said.

In the North Side robberies, Gadson is accused of taking cellphones and cash at gunpoint from students who wer at parties or walking the streets early in the morning.

Both have been in the Mahoning County jail since their arrests in August.

The grand jury also indicted these people:

Kenneth Favors, 61, Foster Street, two counts of aggravated robbery, two counts of robbery with firearm specifications and being a felon in possession of a firearm.

Jamie Risbeck, 38, Madison Avenue, Salem, aggravated possession of drugs, illegal assembly or possession of chemicals for the manufacture of drugs and illegal manufacture of drugs.

Holly DeFrank, aka Hollie DeFrank, 28, Gertrude Avenue, Campbell, possession of heroin, possession of cocaine, loitering to engage in solicitation and illegal use or possession of drug paraphernalia.

Angel Grimm, 38, Wellsville, possession of heroin and illegal use or possession of drug paraphernalia.

Brittany Lee, 26, East 7th Street, McDonald, possession of cocaine.

Deana M. Stewart, 47, Ayrshire Drive, two counts of unauthorized use of a motor vehicle.

Pierre J. Munoz, 20, Carter Circle, Boardman, theft.

Robert F. Petrovich Jr., 42, Leland Drive, Poland, theft.

Robert T. Rowney, 73, Ewing Drive, Boardman, two counts of operating a motor vehicle while under the influence.

Greg Richardson, 30, East Avondale Avenue, aggravated robbery with firearm specification and being a felon in possession of a firearm.

Danielle Russell, 23, Dean Street, possession of heroin, possession of cocaine and illegal use or possession of drug paraphernalia.

Cody F. Moore, 21, Griffith Street, robbery, assault, obstructing official business and resisting arrest.

Jasmine Smith, 21, Milton Avenue, robbery, assault, obstructing official business and resisting arrest.

Joseph D. McCoy, 33, East Liberty Street, Hubbard, burglary, receiving stolen property.

Jimmy K. Moses, 49, Pittsburgh, tampering with evidence and possession of cocaine with forfeiture specifications.

Kyheem R. Underwood, 19, Maplewood Court, theft, receiving stolen property and forgery.

Tawana Hymes, 48, Market Street, rape and attempted rape.

Kenneth R. Mercer, 41, Bedford Road, Lowellville, six counts of gross sexual imposition.
