KSU Homecoming Court includes Ursuline graduate

Laura Roch, daughter of Youngstown residents Joanne and David Roch, has been selected as a member of the Kent State University 2015 Homecoming Court.
Roch, a 2012 graduate of Ursuline High School, is a senior at Kent State majoring in human development and family studies. While at Kent State, she has received numerous honors and awards.
Roch is a member of several campus and community service organizations including Kent State International Mentors, Campus Tour Guide, Delta Gamma Fraternity, Flashguide, Peer Leader Trainer, Kent Interhall Council, Study Abroad Participant, Student Success Leader, National Residence Hall Honorary, Golden Key Honor Society, National Society of Collegiate Scholars, National Society of Leadership and Success, Intramural Sports and the Provost’s Leadership Academy.
Members of the Homecoming Court are chosen for their leadership abilities, academic achievements and involvement in Kent State and community activities. Court members are nominated by a sponsoring campus organization, residence hall, athletic team or department.
Nomination criteria include a 2.25 cumulative grade-point average, completion of four-consecutive semesters at Kent State and senior class standing. Each student nominated is interviewed by the Homecoming Court committee consisting of campus and community leaders.
Roch and other court members will be honored during the halftime celebrations at the Homecoming game Saturday at Dix Stadium, when Kent State takes on Miami University. At that time, Kent State President Beverly Warren and 2014 Homecoming King Christopher Woods and 2014 Homecoming Queen Taylor Winter will crown the Homecoming King and Queen.
“These seniors represent the diversity and richness of the Kent State experience and serve as exceptional role models and ambassadors for the university,” said Dennis Watson, assistant director of student and recent graduate programs, Kent State University Alumni Association.
Other members of Kent State University’s 2015 Homecoming Court are: Zachary Downes, Ryan Borland, PJ Kimmel, Amanda Bevington, Lauren Buchanan, Joshua Longsdorf, Thomas Joseph, McCall Sims, Tierra James, Terry Hugo lll and Hannah Firsdon.
