Friends of Stambaugh Golf Course seek support

Friends of the Stambaugh Golf Course are hosting a benefit golf outing Oct. 10 at the Henry Stambaugh Golf Course, 202 Gypsy Lane. They are seeking the support of area residents, golfers, foundations and organizations to maintain the historic club house built in 1953 and the golf course.

There will be other activities and prizes.

Fees for golfers are $40 per person and $120 for teams of three players with a scramble format. Shotgun start will be at 9 a.m. There will be three divisions based on 18 teams, subject to change. Fees include a nine-hole golf card with cart, continental breakfast and lunch after the event.

To enter, send a check to Friends of Stambaugh Golf Course, c/o Sam Carelly, 3470 Breeze Knoll Drive, Youngstown, OH 44505. Include the contact name, address, phone number and handicap for nine holes.

Sponsorships are $50 for hole sponsors, and gift certificates and other donations are welcome.
