65-mile stretch of westbound Pa. turnpike has reopened after crash
CARLISLE, Pa. (AP) — Pennsylvania Turnpike officials say a 65-mile section of the toll road’s westbound lanes have reopened.
The westbound lanes were closed between the Carlisle and Breezewood interchanges because of a crash involving a truck shortly before 6:30 a.m. today.
Officials say the truck was blocking the westbound lanes and one eastbound lane.
Three people have been injured and taken to hospitals.
Turnpike officials had urged westbound drivers to exit at Carlisle and use Interstates 81 and 70 to bypass the closure, and re-enter the turnpike in Breezewood.
