Pavlik fined $50 after pleading to reduced charges in concert incident

NILES — Former boxing champ Kelly Pavlik went about five rounds with a Niles prosecutor and walked away nearly unscathed.

Pavlik, 33, of Sugarbush Drive in Canfield, pleaded no contest to one minor misdemeanor charge today in Niles Municipal Court for an incident outside of the Foo Fighters concert at the Pine Tree Plaza in April and was fined $50 and court costs.

Terry Swauger, Niles prosecutor dismissed an assault charge and reduced the disorderly conduct from a fourth-degree misdemeanor to a minor misdemeanor.

It was the fifth pretrial in the case following his arraignment hearing.

Weathersfield police said they filed the charges after the former middleweight champ got into a fight with a man in the plaza parking lot during the concert.

Pavlik told The Vindicator was nothing more than a friendly wrestling match with a good friend.
