Daily flights one step closer for Youngstown-Warren airport
VIENNA — The U.S. Department of Transportation issued an order today stating that ADI/SeaPort, the airline proposing daily flights between the Youngstown-Warren Regional Airport and Chicago O'Hare International, is "fit, willing and able" to begin the service.
There will be a 14-day comment period during which individuals may comment on whether the government's order should become final or not.
"This has been a long time coming," said Dan Dickten, aviation director for the Youngstown-Warren Regional Airport. "Hopefully the [approval] will be awarded before Christmas and we will launch flights in March or April."
It will be the first time the airport has had daily air service since 2002.
