Wanted: Competent leader

Wanted: Competent leader

First of all, it is very very unsettling the world we live in today. A government’s No. 1 job is to protect its citizens and country because without that, nothing else really matters. Sure we get free food, housing, health care and more, but again if we are not safe – does it matter?

What happened in France is an example, and we unfortunately have to care. The world is a very unfair and cruel place for a lot of folks in Africa, Korea, Iran, Iraq, Syria, India, Afghanistan, Pakistan and many more places.

When will we realize what needs to be done? A competent leader must be elected as our next president. We might not get another chance.

Clinton’s credible viewpoints

Hillary Clinton’s stance on abortion is a passionate one; she speaks out in favor of Planned Parenthood, saying that it should still be funded by the government. She is against the Republican effort to defund it because she is all for the right of women to make their own health decisions.

In an interview with The Des Moines Register, Clinton lashed out at Republicans’ opposition to abortion and family planning: “This is a direct assault on a woman’s right to choose health care.”

Clinton has also highlighted the other services Planned Parenthood offers, like cancer screenings and other reproductive health care methods, aiming away from the known family planning treatments Planned Parenthood offers, highlighting the importance of the business.

In 2005, she said, “We can all recognize that abortion in many ways represents a sad, even tragic choice to many, many women. The fact is that the best way to reduce the number of abortions is to reduce the number of unwanted pregnancies in the first place.”

Of course, all the Democratic candidates for president have the same stance on abortion. But, it seems that Clinton has a very well thought out stance on the topic.

For one second, let’s bring up the age-old topic that Clinton is a woman, and that women should have the right to their own bodies and what they do with them. Having a woman speak so forwardly about a subject that mainly affects women speaks strongly about the issue.
