Monsignor Paul Dudziak solemnized the 3:30 p.m. Oct. 10 wedding ceremony of Caitlin Blaney and Alexander Botting at St. Stephen Martyr Catholic Church. A reception followed at The Willard Intercontinental Hotel.

The bride wore a sheath gown with an illusion lace back, illusion sleeves and a scalloped hemline train. It was enhanced with metallic lace appliques and Swarovski crystals. A pearl and floral circlet held a cathedral-length veil.

The bride’s sister, Mackenzie Blaney, was maid of honor. Bridesmaids included Jamie Bright, Hillary Bundy, Lindsay Routt and Alexandra Modly. They wore floor-length berry-colored gowns.

Alistair Gray and William Abel shared the duties of best man. Groomsmen were Jamie Lewis, Thomas Northover, Jordan Chapman and Benjamin Essner. The bride’s cousin, Jason Oberly, was ring bearer, and ushers were the bride’s brothers, Ryan and Christopher Blaney, and her cousin, Joshua Oberly.

The Bottings live and work in Chicago.

Mrs. Botting, a daughter of Ronald and Diane Blaney of Canfield, earned a bachelor’s degree from George Washington University and a master’s degree from John Hopkins University. She is director of the office of the chairman at Prescient.

Mr. Botting is the son of Elaine Botting of Tunbridge Wells, Kent, England, and David Botting of Canterbury, Kent, England. He received a bachelor’s degree from the University of Warwick and a master’s degree from GWU. He is a regional client consultant at Euromonitor.
