WARREN

Martice N. Norman, 34, of Parkman Road Northwest and Maryland Street Northwest, is in the Trumbull County Jail, charged with felony burglary after a former friend reported that Norman entered her home, assaulted her and took her car.

Norman is likely to be arraigned Monday in Warren Municipal Court, where the charge was filed Nov. 11. She was booked into the jail on a warrant Wednesday afternoon.

The victim, 28, of Peace Avenue Northwest, reported Oct. 11 that her boyfriend had found her car, which had been stolen earlier, near Norman’s home in the same apartment complex. As he looked at it, Norman came out of her apartment and gave him the keys to it.

The car’s owner then arrived, and Norman also returned clothing that the victim said Norman had taken from her one day earlier in a separate incident.

In that incident, Norman had struck the victim in the face in the victim’s home during an argument over clothes, police report.

When police asked Norman about the incident, she said Wright had refused to give her clothing back. Police found no injuries or marks on the victim’s face. Police returned the victim’s clothing to Norman.

Police said surveillance video is available that would show whether Norman entered the victim’s car.
