RoboCats, Rotary to host clothing drive

GIRARD

Girard High School Robotics team (RoboCats) and the Girard-Liberty Rotary are sponsoring a winter clothing drive through Dec. 15.

New or gently worn coats, hats, gloves, scarves, sweaters and sweatshirts are needed and will be collected from 3 to 5:30 p.m. Dec. 15 in the office at the high school, 1244 Shannon Road.

Donations also will be accepted 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday through Friday starting Dec. 1 in the office.

Goods from the drive will be donated to those in need.

Benefit concert set at ministry

YOUNGSTOWN

New Vision New Day Ministry, 1970 Everett Ave., will sponsor a benefit concert at 7 p.m. Dec. 18.

The ministry will give away $5,000 in gift cards to 20 families in need. The ministry requests that families with two or more children write a letter expressing the challenges that they face daily. They must be present at the concert if they are chosen as a winner.

In collaboration with the U.S. Marine Corps and Toys for Tots, the ministry is accepting registrations from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. through Monday. Children must be present the night of the concert to receive a toy.
