A 28-year-old woman is heading to prison in a hit-and-run crash that killed one person and injured another in Columbus earlier this year.

The Columbus Dispatch reports Erin Overturf was sentenced Tuesday to 11 years behind bars in the crash that killed 61-year-old Sadie Moss on July 1.

Overturf pleaded no contest last month to aggravated vehicular homicide, failing to stop at the scene of a crash and related offenses.

Prosecutors say Overturf was driving recklessly and with a suspended license when the crash occurred. Authorities say witnesses saw her get out of her car and make a call on her cellphone before fleeing the scene.

Overturf apologized in court and says she takes responsibility for her actions.
