Thanksgiving dinner

The Brookfield Township Outreach Association Inc. is sponsoring a free Thanksgiving dinner from 3 to 7 p.m. today at the Brookfield Township fire hall, 774 state Route 7 North, for the Brookfield and Masury communities.

Meal delivery is available for the homebound and the elderly. Transportation to the dinner also is available, but participants must be able to walk to and from the van. Contact 330-883-4122 for information.

The dinner is eat-in or delivery only. Donations of nonperishable food items will be accepted for the Brookfield Township fire and police department Christmas distribution.

Mercer toy drive set

MERCER, PA

Mercer barracks, in conjunction with the Mercer County Children’s Aid Society and the Pennsylvania State Police, will be collecting new toys for the children of Mercer County who may not otherwise receive gifts during the holiday season.

The toy drive will begin Monday and run through Dec. 14.

Only new, unwrapped toys will be accepted, as it will give the parents an opportunity to pick toys that their children would most appreciate receiving. Donations will be accepted at the Mercer barracks, Pa. Route 62 in Jackson Center, 24 hours a day through Dec. 14.
