Grayson Allen scored a career-high 32 points, and No. 5 Duke beat Georgetown in the 2K Classic championship at Madison Square Garden. Derryck Thornton had 14 points and Matt Jones scored 11 for the Blue Devils (4-1), who trailed by five at halftime. Allen bounced back nicely from a shoddy performance in a loss to Kentucky on Tuesday. The sophomore came off the bench and set a career high with 30 points in Friday night’s win over VCU and then returned to the starting lineup against the Hoyas and went 9 for 12 from the field in his fourth game with at least 25 points. Isaac Copeland scored 21 points for Georgetown (1-3), but was scoreless in the second half until hitting two late 3-pointers. D’Vauntes Smith-Rivera and freshman Kaleb Johnson added 14 points apiece.

No. 11 Villanova 75, Akron 56

VILLANOVA, PA.

Josh Hart scored a career-high 27 points to lead Villanova to the victory in the NIT Season Tipoff. Hart shot 11 for 21 from the field and grabbed nine rebounds. The Wildcats (4-0) trailed by as many as eight in the first half before turning the game around with a 27-5 run across both halves. Villanova senior Ryan Arcidiacono had 15 points, eight assists and five rebounds, and Kris Jenkins scored 11 points. Antino Jackson scored 13 points and Kwan Cheatham Jr., had 11 for Akron (3-1).

No. 12 Arizona 61, Northwestern State 42

TUCSON, ARIZ.

Gabe York scored 18 points, and Arizona moved to 4-0 for the sixth straight season. Allonzo Trier added 10 points for the Wildcats, who overcame a subpar shooting effort to extend the nation’s longest active home winning streak to 42 games. York hit two 3-pointers, a nifty layup in traffic and two free throws in a 12-4 run that put Arizona ahead 54-36 with 5 minutes left. Zeek Woodley had 14 points and 10 rebounds for the Demons (0-4), who have struggled offensively since losing senior point guard Jalan West to a season-ending knee injury.

No. 16 Utah 74, Temple 68

SAN JUAN, PUERTO RICO

Jakob Poeltl had a huge performance and Brandon Taylor hit the go-ahead shot with 28.4 seconds left, lifting Utah to the victory in the third-place game at the Puerto Rico Tipoff. Poeltl finished with 32 points and 11 rebounds, tied for the No. 2 single-game scoring total in Tipoff history and the most since 2011. He also went 4 for 4 at the foul line in the final 4.6 seconds, giving Utah (4-1) a tough win against Temple (1-3) after Friday’s blowout loss to Miami. Quenton DeCosey scored 14 points for the Owls, who shot 39 percent.

No. 21 Purdue 85, Florida 70

UNCASVILLE, CONN.

Rapheal Davis scored 18 points to lead five players in double figures, and Purdue won the Hall of Fame Tip-Off tournament. The Boilermakers (5-0) led most of the way and used a 15-2 second-half run to pull away, sending the Gators (3-1) their first loss under new coach Mike White. P.J. Thompson had 15 points for Purdue, and Vince Edwards scored 14. John Egbunu had 19 points and seven rebounds for Florida. Dorian Finney-Smith added 17 points and eight boards. Purdue shot 50 percent from the floor and made 11 of 26 shots from behind the arc.

Miami 85, No. 22 Butler 75

SAN JUAN, PUERTO RICO

Angel Rodriguez scored 19 points, leading Miami to the Puerto Rico Tipoff championship. Ja’Quan Newton added a career-high 17 points for the Hurricanes (5-0), who followed their romp against No. 16 Utah by building a big lead again, and then protecting that advantage against a big scoring burst from Kellen Dunham and the Bulldogs. Dunham scored 20 of his 23 after halftime, helping Butler (3-1) trim a 19-point gap to four with about 3 1/2 minutes left. But the Hurricanes hit enough free throws late to hang on, earning their second Tipoff title.

No. 25 Oregon 73, Valparaiso 67

EUGENE, ORE.

Dillon Brooks had 26 points and 13 rebounds for Oregon, and Tyler Dorsey added 21 points. Brooks scored 18 points in the second half, including eight straight during a 12-2 run that gave the Ducks (4-0) their largest lead at 63-53. The Crusaders (5-1) pulled to 69-67 on 3-pointers by Keith Carter and Darien Walker, but Oregon sealed the victory with four free throws in the final 28.6 seconds. Tevonn Walker led Valparaiso with 14 points and Alec Peters had 13.
