Klay Thompson scored 21 points and Golden State tied the best start in NBA history, beating Denver to move to 15-0. Golden State matches the start of the 1948-49 Washington Capitols and the ‘93-94 Houston Rockets. The Warriors can break the record Tuesday at home against the Los Angeles Lakers. Here’s more history: The Warriors surpassed the ‘57-58 Boston Celtics for the best start by a defending champion. Thompson hit a 3-pointer with 2:08 remaining in the second quarter and Golden State never trailed again. The reserves built up a sizeable lead and allowed Stephen Curry to rest the entire fourth quarter. He had 19 points, the first time this season Curry hasn’t reached 20. Darrell Arthur had 21 points for the Nuggets, who’ve lost three straight.

OKLAHOMA CITY
Russell Westbrook had 31 points and 11 assists, hitting two key baskets in the final 63 seconds, and Oklahoma City rallied from a double-digit third-quarter deficit to snap Dallas’ six-game winning streak. Serge Ibaka had 16 points, nine rebounds and a key late blocked shot for Oklahoma City, which was without star forward Kevin Durant (injured hamstring) for the sixth straight game. Westbrook broke a 113-113 tie with a jumper with 1:03 left. Zaza Pachulia made 1 of 2 from the free-throw line to pull the Mavericks within a point before Westbrook’s 18-foot jumper with 24 seconds left capped the scoring. Deron Williams led Dallas with 20 points.

Anthony Davis capped a 32-point, 19-rebound performance with a tiebreaking 3 in the final minute to lead New Orleans past Phoenix. Davis, whose rebound total set a season high, also blocked four shots and had two steals. Eric Bledsoe scored 29 points for Phoenix, which lost despite hitting 17 3-pointers. Brandon Knight had 19 points, but missed 13 of 18 shots.

Brook Lopez had 23 points and 10 rebounds, Jarrett Jack scored 13 of his 22 points in the fourth quarter and Brooklyn earned a split of teh teams’ home-and-home series. Two nights after the Celtics won by 25 in Boston, the Nets dominated the second quarter that was pivotal in both games and held on after blowing most of a 22-point lead, their largest of the season. Joe Johnson added 17 points for the Nets.
Raptors 91, Clippers 80

DeMar DeRozan had 21 points, DeMarre Carroll scored each of his 21 points in the first half, and Toronto held Blake Griffin and Chris Paul scoreless through the first 20-plus minutes of a win over the Clippers. Luis Scola added 20 points and Kyle Lowry had 13 points and 10 assists for Toronto, which closed out a 2-3 road trip. The Raptors (9-6) shot just 37 percent from the field, but they outrebounded the Clippers 46-42 and forced 19 turnovers. J.J. Redick scored 17 points for Los Angeles (6-7).
