Crisis Shelter to sell lottery calendars

NEW CASTLE, PA.

Crisis Shelter of Lawrence County, 1215 W. State St., will sell 2016 lottery calendars.

The shelter is the only domestic violence/sexual assault victim service agency in Lawrence County.Calendar sales will fund numerous free services provided by the organization, including emergency shelter, traditional housing, medical/legal advocacy, counseling and prevention education.

JCC to offer gift wrapping services

Jewish Community Center of Youngstown, 505 Gypsy Lane, will offer gift wrapping services at two locations this holiday season. Donations will be collected and will benefit JCC programs.

The adult lounge at JCC will offer wrapping services from 5 to 8 p.m. Dec. 2 and 3, 4 to 7 p.m. Dec. 4 and noon to 4 p.m. Dec. 5. JCC representatives will also be at Southern Park Mall wrapping stations from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Dec. 17 through 24.

Rotary challenge to benefit charities

WARREN

Warren Rotary Club will host its second annual Slice of Valley pizza challenge from 4:30 to 8 p.m. Jan. 16 at St. Demetrios Community Center, 3223 Atlantic St. NE.

Guests and celebrity judges will vote for the best local slice, and proceeds will benefit Warren Rotary charities.

The event will include a pizza-eating contest, basket and silent auctions, music and a 50-50 raffle. Cost is $10 for adults and $5 for children 6 and under. Beer and wine will be available for purchase.
