Chamber schedules seminar about GHS

HOWLAND

The Youngstown/Warren Regional Chamber will have a “Global Harmonized Systems: What you need to know” seminar Dec. 9. The event, which is sponsored by City Machine Technologies, will take place at Leo’s Ristorante, 7042 E. Market St.

Check-in and lunch starts at 11:15 a.m., and a training session will be from noon to 1 p.m.

This month marks a compliance date in the implementation of Global Harmonized System compliant chemical classification and labeling.

Chemical distributors now will only be shipping products with GHS compliant labels.

These new changes to Occupational Safety and Health Administration’s Hazard Communication Standard are critically important to workplace safety, and employers should ensure workers are properly prepared for the coming changes.

The event costs $20 for chamber members and $30 for nonmembers. To register by Dec. 1, call 330-744-2131, ext. 12, or email amy@regionalchamber.com.
