Churches in the Valley are conducting special services in honor of Thanksgiving.
Beulah Missionary Baptist Church, 570 Sherwood Ave., Youngstown: A pre-Thanksgiving Day service will be at 6 p.m. Tuesday with the Rev. Robert Jenkins as speaker. A native of Warren, he serves a church in Charlotte, N.C. A Thanksgiving Day service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday with the Rev. Jeffery Stanford, pastor, as speaker.
Central Christian Church, 2051 E. Market St., Warren: An interfaith Thanksgiving service is planned at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday with St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Beth Israel Temple and Sts. Peter and Paul Byzantine Catholic Church.
Christian Bible Baptist Church, 2369 Oak St. Ext., Youngstown: A Thanksgiving Day service is planned at 10 a.m. Thursday with Pastor Keith A. Neal.
Church of the Rock, 7025 Luteran Road, Poland: Poland community Thanksgiving worship is planned at 7 p.m. Sunday. Monsignor William Connell of Holy Family Parish will preach. All are welcome to join the choir which will practice at 5:45 p.m. An offering will be collected for Poland Food Pantry; worshippers are invited to bring non-perishable canned goods. Other Poland churches participating are Heritage Presbyterian, Poland Presbyterian, Poland United Methodist and Prince of Peace Lutheran.
Coalburg United Methodist Church, 1906 Wick Campbell Road, Hubbard: Hubbard Christians in Action will sponsor a community Thanksgiving service at 7 p.m. Tuesday.
Good Hope Lutheran Church, 98 Homestead Drive, Boardman: Thanksgiving Eve service set at 7 p.m. Wednesday.
Grace African Methodist Episcopal Church, 1137 Main Ave. SW, Warren: Trumbull County Ministerial Alliance will host a community Thanksgiving service, “In Everything Gives Thanks,” at 6 p.m. Sunday with featured speaker, Elder Ronald Fowlis, pastor of Eastside Church of Christ, a senior clergyman who has pastored in Warren for more than 50 years. The TCIMA Mass Choir will provide special worship music under the direction of Van Nelson. The TCIMA involves churches in Warren and surrounding areas; the Rev. Alton Merrell Sr. is president. Host pastor is the Rev. John McCants. An offering will be taken for Alliance Community Outreach Project.
Martin Luther Lutheran Church, 420 Clearmount Drive, Youngstown: Hymn sing and Scripture reading service at 10 a.m. Thursday, Thanksgiving Day.
Mineral Ridge Church of Christ, 3911 Main St., Mineral Ridge: Mineral Ridge community Thanksgiving service is planned at 4 p.m. Sunday. An offering will benefit the Community Food Pantry. Refreshments will follow the service.
Petersburg Presbyterian Church, 13996 Youngstown-Pittsburgh Road, Petersburg: A community Thanksgiving service is planned at 7 p.m. Sunday. The offering will support the general fund of Springfield Township Council of Churches.
Redeemer Lutheran Church, 2305 S. Canfield-Niles Road, Austintown: A Thanksgiving service will be at 7 p.m. Wednesday.
St. Columba Cathedral, 154 W. Wood St., Youngstown: Thanksgiving Day Mass will be at 9:30 a.m. Thursday. No confessions.
St. Patrick Church, 1420 Oak Hill Ave., Youngstown: Thanksgiving Day Mass planned at 10 a.m. Thursday.
Shenango Valley Ministerial: The annual Thanksgiving service with special music is scheduled at 6 p.m. Wednesday at Second Missionary Baptist Church, 1138 Sperman Ave., Farrell, Pa.
Unity Centre for Spiritual Living, 1226 Naylor Lloyd Road, Liberty: A Thanksgiving service will be at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday with Cay Tomerlin.
