Seeking armed man

GIRARD

Multiple agencies are searching for a man believed to be armed and dangerous and wanted for robberies here.

David Williams, 23, is wanted by Girard police, the Ohio Adult Parole Authority and the U.S. Marshals Service. He is a suspect in multiple armed robberies, including those involving Highland Dairy and Dollar General in Girard this week.

Authorities believe Williams is hiding somewhere in Trumbull County, possibly in Girard or Niles. He is white, with brown hair and brown eyes. He weighs 190 pounds and is about 6 feet tall.

The Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force is offering a reward for information about Williams’ whereabouts.

Juvenile beating case

WARREN

Closing arguments took place Thursday morning in Trumbull County Juvenile Court during a hearing to determine whether Jacob Larosa, 16, of Lafayette Avenue in Niles will be tried as an adult in the beating death of his neighbor, Marie Belcastro, 94.

Judge Sandra Stabile Harwood, who presided over the four days of hearings, has not indicated when she will issue a decision in the case. The hearings were closed to the public.

Woman finds newborn puppies along road

HUBBARD

Two women flagged down a Hubbard Township police Sgt. Mike Begeot after finding 12 newborn pit bull puppies abandoned alongside Liberty Road, according to The Vindicator’s broadcast partner 21 WFMJ-TV.

The woman said the puppies were inside a tied plastic bag, and Begeot said they still had their umbilical cords attached.

The TV station said two of the puppies died after being turned over to the Mahoning County Dog warden, and the rest were turned over to a Cleveland rescue group which has provided them a surrogate mother. The warden is seeking the culprit who left the pups for dead.

Woman gets 12 years

WARREN

A judge sentenced Adante Mallory, 29, of Burton Street Southeast to 12 years in prison Thursday after she pleaded guilty to aggravated robbery, three counts of felonious assault, being a felon in possession of a firearm and improperly handling firearms in a motor vehicle. The charges relate to a May 1 gun fight at the BP gas station on East Market Street in which two of the combatants and an innocent third person were injured.

A girl, 15, was hit in the eyes with flying glass at the BP parking lot, police said.
