WARREN

The Trumbull County commissioners are expected to approve a resolution today supporting an application to the Appalachian Regional Commission for funding the Energy Integration Laboratory and Shared Resource Center at the Tech Belt Energy Innovation Center, a business incubator.

TBEIC, located in a 37,000-square-foot remodeled facility on West Market Street on Courthouse Square, supports advanced and alternative energy and natural-resource technology start-ups.

The technology resource center is designed to give entrepreneurs an early-stage electrical-grid integration lab to evaluate grid compatibility and readiness early in the development process, according to the Eastgate Regional Council of Governments.

The resolution says the TBEIC is “a driver for economic growth in the county” and “grew to be the leader in energy entrepreneurial development in Northeast Ohio.”

The Energy Integration Laboratory and Shared Resource Center will help draw technical talent to central Trumbull County, the resolution says.
