The United Way of Youngstown and the Mahoning Valley is teaming up with Second Harvest Food Bank of the Mahoning Valley to open a monthly in-school mobile food pantry as part of the Success After 6 Initiative at the Youngstown Community School, 50 Essex St.

Families from both the Youngstown Community School and neighboring Millcreek Children’s Center will be invited to take part in the food pantry.

To celebrate the kickoff and upcoming holiday, Cort-land Banks will donate a Thanksgiving turkey to 240 families at both schools.

The partnership will be announced Friday at the school with representatives from United Way, the food bank, Cortland Banks, Youngstown Community School, and Millcreek Children’s Center attending.

Town hall meeting

YOUNGSTOWN

The 7th Ward Citizens Coalition will have a town-hall meeting 6:30 p.m. Thursday at Faith Community Covenant Church, 1919 E. Midlothian Blvd.

Government officials in attendance will have their answers to questions judged by the audience through wireless instant-polling devices supplied by Turning Technologies. Five options will range from “strongly agree/like” to “strongly disagree/dislike.”

Confirmed guests will be Mayor John A. McNally, police Chief Robin Lees, and T. Sharon Woodberry, city economic development and planning director. Officials also will be permitted to briefly add comments or clarifications to another official’s answer, but in every case, the audience will be polled on the response.
