BOARDMAN

The Boardman Cheddar’s Casual Cafe, 7327 Market St., has closed.

“As Cheddar’s Scratch Kitchen grows as a brand, we continue to make strategic decisions about where to open new restaurants and which ones to close,” said Chris Enright, regional vice president of operations at Cheddar’s, in a statement. “After great consideration, we made the business decision to close our Youngstown restaurant on Nov. 16.”

The family-dining franchise opened in 2012 outside of the Southern Park Mall as the third Cheddar’s restaurant to open in Ohio. It joined other locations in Mansfield and Findlay.

The location, a 9,000-square-foot spot, was constructed near the Chili’s restaurant by the Southern Park Mall.

Cheddar’s offerings range from burgers and sandwiches to steak and shrimp. Cornmeal catfish, shepherd’s pie and fish tacos also are among the selections.

“We genuinely thank our guests and team for their support over the past three years,” Enright’s statement said. “We hope they will have the opportunity to visit us again at one of our other 160-plus locations throughout the nation.”

The company did not answer questions beyond its statement.
