Pittsburgh Symphony concert at campus

GROVE CITY, Pa.

The Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra will perform “An American Thanksgiving” at Grove City College on Wednesday.

The 8 p.m. concert will take place in Ketler Auditorium of Pew Fine Arts Center.

Tickets are $15 at alumni.gcc.edu.

The orchestra, under the direction of Andres Franco, will perform works by great American composers such as Copeland, Bernstein and Barber, along with a rich sampling of Dvorak’s “New World.”

Jazz ensembles perform tonight

YOUNGSTOWN

The Dana School of Music will present a free concert by the jazz ensembles, directed by Kent Engelhardt and Dave Morgan, at 7 p.m. today in Kilcawley Center’s Chestnut Room.

Morgan’ ensemble will perform music by Jim Hall, Charles Mingus, Charlie Parker and Marcus Miller. Engelhardt’s ensemble will celebrate the centennial of composer/pianist Billy Strayhorn by performing “Impressions Of The Far East Suite.”

Parking is available in the M-1 Wick Avenue parking deck for a nominal fee.
