Frackfree Mahoning Valley members to participate in Tuesday anti-fracking rallies
YOUNGSTOWN — Groups of concerned citizens from several states are joining together to call for a halt of toxic fracking waste and related man-made earthquakes in an event beginning at 12:30 p.m. Tuesday titled, “Freedom From Toxic Fracking Waste and Earthquakes: A National Day of Action.”
Frackfree Mahoning Valley will mark the day by rallying at several fracking waste-related sites, including the site of the 2015 Vienna waste spill/release near an injection-well operation.
Frackfree Mahoning Valley members will visit these sites. Rallies will take place on public land at AWMS Niles/Weathersfield injection well on North Main Street, Niles; 12:30 to about 1:10 pm.; new injection well being drilled on state Route 193 near the Youngstown-Warren Regional Airport in Vienna; 1:30 to about 1:45 p.m.; KDA injection well, Sodom Hutchings Road, Vienna, 2 to 2:45 p.m.; and Iron Eagle Enterprises, Inc. 4991 Belmont Ave. Liberty, from 3 to 3:30 p.m.
