Surprise dinner marks 50 years for Zamarys

A surprise dinner at Bedford Trails in Coitsville on Saturday marked the 50th anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Zamary of Campbell.

The event was hosted by their children, Charles Zamary of Milton, Fla.; Mark Zamary of New Albany, Ohio; and Carol (Jeff) Michaels and Todd Zamary, all of Youngstown. Seven grandchildren complete the family.

The former Carol Bernard married Mr. Zamary on Nov. 13, 1965, at St. Stephen of Hungary Church in Youngstown.

The Zamarys are members of Christ, the Good Shepherd Parish at St. Joseph the Provider Church and serve in the church’s cultural society.

A registered nurse, Mrs. Zamary was an oncology certified nurse at the Blood and Cancer Center in Canfield and retired in 2012.

Mr. Zamary retired in 2010 as an inspector for the State of Ohio Department of Agriculture. He is also a member of the Holy Name Society and the financial and pastoral council of his church. He is an U.S. Army veteran, was stationed in Fort Benning, Ga., and served in the Dominican Republic.
