CORTLAND
Thomas Shortreed & Associates selected Second Harvest of the Mahoning Valley’s Mobile Pantry and Backpack program in Trumbull County to benefit from participation in Ameriprise’s National Day of Service.
Shortreed & Associates has challenged its clients to donate $3,000 for the Mobile Pantry and $2,500 for the BackPack program, and the company says it will match the collective client donation up to $2,500.
Howland High School and Lakeview School District are collecting nonperishable food items to donate directly to food bank member agencies Howland Community Church, Cortland Area Cares and Bolindale Food Pantry.
Shortreed & Associates staff and clients, Howland and Lakeview students and teacher advisers, Becky Miller from Second Harvest, and representatives from the Howland and Cortland local food pantries were at a summary of project results and presentations Friday at Bazetta Township Hall, 3372 state Route 5.
Clients from Shortreed volunteered time at Second Harvest and assisted in stocking shelves with the food items collected.
