The Fairfield Inn & Suites on Tiffany South on Thursday unveiled changes made during a six-month, $2 million renovation project.

The hotel, which is part of a franchise operated by TMI Hospitality Inc., renovated the lobby, breakfast area, pool room and all 62 guest rooms. The project added a fitness center, guest laundry room, eight suite-style rooms and a corner market.

“Basically, the whole hotel was gutted,” said Lindsay Barnhart, general manager of the hotel, during the hotel’s grand reopening event. She said it is the first major renovation work done at the site, which opened nearly 20 years ago.

“Our guests are so happy with everything,” she said.

Changes to the guest rooms, among other things, include all new carpeting, granite counter tops in the bathrooms and the addition of refrigerators.

Renovation work began in January and ended in June. The company undertook the project, Barnhart said, “to make sure we’re competitive in providing the best products to our guests.”

TMI Hospitality, which earlier this year was acquired by Starwood Capital Group, is a developer and management company based in North Dakota that operates more than 180 hotel properties throughout the country. Those properties represent franchises including Marriott, Hilton, Choice Hotels, Carlson, Hyatt and IHG, according to the company website.

Fairfield Inn & Suites is part of the Marriott brand. TMI Hospitality also operates the Residence Inn and Hampton Inn on Tiffany South.
