Body found in burning car on Otis Street

YOUNGSTOWN — Detectives are investigating after a body was found about 11:30 p.m. Thursday by firefighters in a burning car on Otis Street.

Lt. Doug Bobovnyik of the Detective Bureau said firefighters discovered the body and called police. Bobovnyik said this is an arson.

An autopsy will be done to determine cause of death, Bobovnyik said. He said police also need to find the identity of the victim.

If the death is a homicide, it would be the 19th of the year and the third within a week. In 2014 Youngstown had 19 homicides.
