Boardman teens repay woman's kindness by taking her car

BOARDMAN — After paying a group of juveniles to rake leaves and allowing them inside her home for cookies and hot chocolate, the juveniles stole her vehicle, a township woman reported to police.

Police responded to Danbury Drive earlier this week, where the victim reported that three juveniles males knocked on her door that day requesting to rake leaves. She agreed, and paid them $21 for the work.

Later, after inviting them in for snacks and observing them leave, she reportedly heard her car starting and a loud noise when the car struck her house. The suspects then reportedly fled in the vehicle.

Youngstown police recovered the vehicle at Indianola Avenue and Erie Street on the city's South Side. The suspects fled on foot.

The vehicle, according to a police report, sustained extensive damage. The suspects also reportedly crashed it while fleeing from police.

The victim believes the suspects to be between 14 and 16 years old, according to the report.
