Myths and Truths about Holiday Plants

What: Some holiday plants are poisonous, but it isn’t the poinsettia you should be concerned about. Learn with Ellen Speicher about hidden lives of plants we bring inside our homes during the holidays, how to care for them and what to do with them after the holidays.

PROJECT FEEDER- WATCH BEGINS

When: Sunday, 1-5 p.m.

What: Stop in every Sunday to count birds and collect data for this winterlong citizen science project.

Holiday Arrangements, Containers

When: Wednesday, 9:30 a.m.-noon.

What: Join our decor guru for coffee with a master gardener volunteer as she helps you understand design and materials for turning your outdoor containers into beautiful holiday displays. She’ll also cover indoor arrangements. Bring up to a 12-inch container.

OHIO’S WOODLAND WILDLIFE

When: Wednesday, 7-8:30 p.m.

What: Marne Titchenell will discuss best ways to attract wildlife to your backyard while creating a safe environment for them.

Plants for Winter Interest

When: Nov. 18, 10-11:30 a.m.

What: In the midst of winter, it is often so refreshing for gardeners to take a walk in the garden, look around and observe. What to look for? Garden designer Bridget Beck will show you on a winter garden “walk.”
