Church benefit auction on Saturday

DAMASCUS

Children of Damascus United Methodist Church, 300 Valley Road, will host its 11th annual “Kids for Kids” benefit auction at 4 p.m. Saturday. Proceeds benefit children’s missions. Lunch will be served.

Kiko Auctions will conduct an adult auction with more than 150 items, including gift certificates and baskets. There will a children’s auction with a junior auctioneer. Call 330-537-3031.

Home Savings donates to project

YOUNGsTOWN

Home Savings Charitable Foundation donated $50,000 to Cafe Augustine, a restaurant in the Newport Branch library, 3730 Market St. Funds will be used for general operating costs.

The cafe is a joint project of St. Augustine Society and Public Library of Youngstown and Mahoning County. At-risk young adults between 16 and 24 years old work at the cafe to learn life skills and employment habits. Participants will be offered paid internships in local restaurants.
