Health insurance
YOUNGSTOWN
The ValleyCare Health System of Ohio is helping area residents learn about and enroll in health insurance options on the Health Insurance Marketplace through Jan. 31.
As part of the Affordable Care Act, most United States citizens are required to have health insurance. Since the passage of the ACA five years ago, about 16.4 million uninsured people have gained health coverage. Yet, approximately 30 million Americans remain uninsured.
ValleyCare wants to help educate residents in an easy-to-understand way, and assist those qualified who haven’t yet signed up for health insurance or Medicaid, officials said.
ValleyCare is offering two free events at which community members can learn about these new health insurance options. The sessions are: Wednesday, and Friday, from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., both at the Salvation Army, 1501 Glenwood Ave., Youngstown.
For an appointment with an application counselor, call Northside Medical Center, Youngstown, at 330-884-2710, or Trumbull Memorial Hospital, Warren, at 330-841-9335.
