Up for adoption

How to adopt: Call West Side Cats at 330-792-4228. Visit them at the shelter at 2217 Mahoning Ave., Youngstown.

Name: Olivia

Info: Olivia is a 7-year-old Maine Coon breed feline. She is often scared at the shelter – volunteers think she needs a quiet home with no other cats, dogs or children. She loves to be petted, but being gentle is key. It takes a while to gain her trust, but she’ll be a wonderful companion to an owner who gives her the attention she deserves.

Name: Americus

Info: Americus, a gray Tabby, was born at the shelter Aug. 16, 2013. She is laid back and friendly, but also quiet and not attention-seeking. She gets along well with other cats. She hasn’t left the shelter, so it’s unknown how she’ll get along with dogs and children, but volunteers are confident she’ll be able to adjust.

Hours: 3 to 7 p.m. Tuesday through Friday; 2 to 6 p.m. Saturday; Closed Sunday and Monday. Info: Both cats have been spayed and are up-to-date on their shots. They tested negative for feline AIDS and leukemia. They have been flea-treated and dewormed and are ready to go home. For more information, visit www.WestSideCats.org.
