St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church was the setting June 27 for the 2 p.m. wedding of Kathryn Cunning and Eric Brown. The ceremony was solemnized by the bride’s uncle, the Rev. Richard Murphy. A reception followed that evening on the church grounds.
The bride is the daughter of Patrick and Mary Eileen Cunning of Campbell. The groom is the son of Diane and Steve Tarka of Salineville and the late Roy Brown.
Mrs. Brown wore a gown of ivory lace over satin designed with a scalloped neckline and low back with fabric-covered buttons. The bride customized her ribbon belt with a jeweled applique and decorated her shoes with jewels and pearls.
Her sister, Megan E. Rankin, was matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Kristin and Melissa Kmetz, the bride’s cousins; Jessica Cunning, sister-in-law of the bride; and Katie Kampfer and Mary Jo Brown, sisters of the groom. The bride’s cousin, Alyse Murphy, was flower girl. The attendants wore sea mist-colored dresses.
The groom’s cousin, Joshua Zehentbauer, performed duties of best man. Groomsmen were David Rankin, brother-in-law of the bride; Timothy and Brian Cunning, brothers of the bride; and Brent and Bart Brown, cousins of the groom.
The Browns are graduates of Kent State University, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in English and he received a bachelor’s degree in air traffic control.
They traveled to the Hawaiian islands of Maui, Kauai and Oahu for their honeymoon and live in Las Vegas.
