Accounting society plans seminar

CANFIELD

Mahoning Valley Accounting Society will present the 2015 Ethics in Tax Practice seminar from 5:30 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at A La Cart Catering, 429 Lisbon St.

Registration will take place at 5. The seminar is for three hours PSR.

Speaker will be Mark J. Patrick, certified public accountant. Cost is $119 for members and $139 for nonmembers; dinner is included.

The society also will sponsor the 2015 accounting and auditing seminar from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. next Friday at A La Cart Catering.

Registration begins at 8 a.m. The seminar is for eight hours of A&A. Speaker will be Dr. Peter Woodlock, CPA, Youngstown State University. Cost is $139 for members and $169 for nonmembers; lunch is included.

Speaker to discuss mindful eating

YOUNGSTOWN

The Downtown Wellness Community will present a program with Jay Cohen, a certified yoga and mindfulness instructor, on “Mindful Eating and How to Navigate the Holidays,” from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Nov. 18 at the Youngstown Business Incubator, 241 W. Federal St.

Cohen will demonstrate basic mindfulness techniques, teach participants to eat mindfully, and share tips on how these tools help with weight loss and overall well-being.
