AUSTINTOWN

The Youngstown Model Railroad Association will have its annual open house from noon to 6 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, and Nov. 14 and 15 and Dec. 5 and 6 at the club, 751 N. Four Mile Run Road. Admission is $4 (free for children 11 and under with an adult).

The YMRA is one of the few clubs in the country that has two complete displays: an O scale and the smaller HO scale. Each of the extensive layouts features more than 100 scale miles of track.

The HO layout is currently undergoing renovation. The creation of a complete steel mill complex and its track work are in the process of being built, as well as a new passenger station that depicts the original home of the club, the New York Central Railroad Station that was in downtown Youngstown.

The O scale layout offers memories of the trains many had displayed under Christmas trees years ago.
