A local podiatrist, Dr. James LaPolla Jr., D.P.M., owner of Northeast Ohio Foot, Ankle & Wound Center Inc., with offices in Howland and Brookfield, has been appointed to the National Podiatry Advisory Board of Valeant Pharmaceuticals International Inc.
An accredited physician with Valeant and a member of its speakers bureau, Dr. LaPolla provides lectures and professional consultation for the medication Jublia, which treats toenail fungus, and the medicine Luzu, which treats athlete’s foot.
A physician and surgeon of the foot and ankle for over 25 years, Dr. LaPolla treats bunions, corns, calluses, warts, flat feet, arch and heel pain, ingrown toenails, infections, arthritis, vascular ulcers, foot fractures and ankle sprains.
He offers 24-hour emergency services and is available by appointment in the early morning, afternoon and evening hours for children, adolescents and adults.
All insurances, including private insurance, Medicare, Medicaid and workers’ compensation, are accepted.
A resident of Howland, where he is a member of the township trustees, Dr. LaPolla, 52, is a graduate of the College of Wooster and the Kent State University College of Podiatric Medicine.
He and his wife, Elizabeth, have five children: Gillian Michelakis, Jenna LaPolla, and James R., Daniel and Andrew LaPolla.
