Cruise celebrates Scales’ 50th anniversary

YOUNGSTOWN

Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Scales of Youngstown marked their 50th anniversary with a celebration with family and friends Oct. 12 during a Carnival Victory cruise of the western Caribbean.

Their children, Sonjia Bufford of Columbus and Kesha Scales of Youngstown, hosted the event. Two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren complete the family.

The former Macyel Woods married Mr. Scales on April 10, 1965, at Greater Morris Chapel A.M.E. Church in Farrell, Pa.

Mrs. Scales works as a ticketer at Brentwood Originals in Youngstown. She attended Antioch Baptist Church in Youngstown.

Mr. Scales is retired after 35 years as a welder operator at General Motors in Lordstown. He is a member of the Lexington Bridge Club.
