Austintown Senior Center, 100 Westchester Drive, has planned the following: Monday, active exercise at 8 a.m., 30 minutes with God and senior spinning at 9, Piloxing, bingo, painting class and quilting at 10 and lunch at noon; Tuesday, active exercise at 8 a.m., video class: Ancient Technology at 9, bingo, quilting, crocheting and Youngstown Women’s Connection at 10, line dancing at 10:30, chair yoga at 11:30, lunch at noon, class on candle meditation at 12:30 p.m., AARP choir practice at 1, car cruise at 5 and paint and taste at 6; Wednesday, active exercise at 8 a.m., 30 minutes with God and blood pressure checks at 9, bingo, quilting and BP Express at 10, senior spinning at 10:30, Zumba at 11, $3 pizza party at noon and TOPS at 1 p.m.; Thursday, active exercise at 8 a.m., wood carving at 9, SOS at 9:30, chair yoga, senior center staff meeting, vets helping vets, quilting and crocheting at 10, video class: natural healing at 10:30, knitting at 11 and lunch and bingo at noon; Friday, active exercise at 8 a.m., 30 minutes with God, trip to Canton dog show and rally and video class: Skeptics American History at 9, discussion group, bingo and senior spinning 1 at 10, senior spinning 1C at 10:30 and yoga at 11; Saturday, Trunk and Treasure Show from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. For information call 330-953-1416 or visit www.austintownseniorcenter.webs.com.
Guardian Angels of Ohio, a volunteer program of Trumbull County Probate Court, is looking for new volunteers. Angel volunteers receive training to become advocates who reach out as friends to seniors who may need a friendly phone call, a visit in a nursing home or a visit at home. Angels also are involved in planning special events for seniors such as health fairs and Make a Difference day projects. Lord of Life Lutheran Church, 550 N. Broad St., Canfield, announces its next Gathering Place, a senior day event, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. June 8 featuring various games. An outdoor picnic lunch will be served with an optional donation, if weather permits. The building is handicap-accessible. Reservations are due by Friday to the church at 330-533-3531 or Bernadette Beler at 330-533-6045. This is a free community outreach social program offered to all senior citizens the second Monday of each month. Different games and activities are offered each month.
Niles SCOPE Senior Center, 14 E. State St., will host its annual card and bingo party from noon to 4 p.m. June 8. The cost is $5, which includes lunch. There will be door prizes and a 50-50 raffle.
