Munnell Run Farm, 753 Greenville Road, is hosting two special events in June.
The farm, along with the Mercer County Conservation District and guest artisan Mitzi Dales, will host an event exploring graphic transferring on to wood from 5:45 to 8:30 p.m. June 8.
Dales is the owner of “No Place Like Home” in Greenville, Pa. No art experience is required for the event, and all paint materials will be provided as well as instruction.
Guests are responsible for choosing a saying that they would like to paint on a wooden sign. To see examples of each saying, visit www.munnellrunfarm.org and click on calendar.
Cost is $35, and registration is required by Monday.
The farm and conservation district will also team up for a “Herb Planting 101: Tools, Tips, and Tricks” event from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday with Cyndi Burk, owner of the Nut House in Mercer, Pa.
Burk will instruct guests in planting and raising herbs that can be use in many ways at harvest season, the basics of starting herbs, and how to care with them will be covered.
Participants will help establish the herb gardens at the farm. They will be invited back in the fall for the second half of the two-class series. The second class is planned for Aug. 29 and will showcase harvesting herbs, how to dry them and how to cook with them.
Guests will taste various foods, vinegars and butters that feature flavors from the herb garden, and also will get to take home an herb of their own to get a small “spice garden” started.
Cost is $18, and registration is due by today.
