Former YSU president releases 3rd in trilogy

Les Cochran, former president of Youngstown State University, combines fiction with realistic education reform in “Presidential Affair,” the third book in the “Love, Lies and Liaisons” trilogy.

A main plot in the book is a romance involving the president of the United States. However, Cochran’s main character, Steve Schilling, isn’t the president; he’s the proponent of educational reform brought to Washington to save the nation’s school system. He also happens to be having an affair with Janet Stetson, the first woman president of the United States.

Although Cochran’s novel is fiction, his suggestions for education reform are not. A longtime educator, Cochran believes the students of the United States are not rising to their potential.

The imprint will feature books by Patterson, who has written numerous children’s stories, and by other authors. Patterson’s profits will be donated to a variety of his favorite causes. In a statement issued through Little Brown, Patterson said that the goal of the imprint was to inspire kids to say, “Please give me another book.”
