Francine DeFrank was trying to get help for her drug problem, but she was kicked out of a treatment facility Tuesday.

She ended up getting high hours later and then two days after that, she was one of five people arrested by members of the vice squad serving a search warrant at a 419 W. Earle Ave. home Thursday.

DeFrank told Magistrate Anthony Sertick during her arraignment via video in municipal court from the Mahoning County jail Friday she did not feel good about herself.

“I’m disgusted right now,” she said.

Besides DeFrank, who was charged with possession of drugs/crack cocaine and possession of drug paraphernalia, others arrested at the home were Andrew Stigall, 18, who was wanted on a warrant; Kalilo Robinson, 18, who was charged with improper handling of a firearm in a motor vehicle, being a felon in possession of a firearm and a warrant; Marcus Wilson, 27, possession of heroin; and Daniel Lindsey, 24, possession of drugs, a probation violation and two warrants for failure to appear.

Issued a summons for possession of property was Jacob Lindsey, 21. All are from Youngstown.

DeFrank told Sertick that she was kicked out of the facility Tuesday because she received a dozen written reprimands over the previous weekend for smoking inside and also for talking loudly to staff members. She said it did not take long for her to start taking drugs again.

“When they discharged me on Tuesday, that’s when I used,” DeFrank said.

DeFrank said her boyfriend has custody of her child because of her drug problem. She has a record in municipal court stretching back to 2006 and common pleas court to 2007. Assistant Prosecutor Jeffrey Moliterno told the magistrate that DeFrank has 10 prior failure to appear for court charges in her past record.

Reports said when officers arrived at the home about 6:45 p.m. Thursday, Jacob Lindsey ignored orders to stay where he was and ran inside and secured the door. Police could not force the door so they broke a window, got inside and ordered Daniel Lindsey and Wilkins, who were running away, to the ground.

In a van parked in front of the home, police found a loaded Glock semiautomatic handgun under the seat that Robinson was sitting in, reports said. The warrants for both Stigall and Robinson are from juvenile court, reports said.

Inside the house, police found $43 cash, a suboxone strip on Daniel Lindsey, a bag of heroin on Wilson and $491 cash, also on Wilkins, reports said.

At a Cameron Avenue home where another warrant was served about 4:55 p.m., police arrested Carlos Herring, 27, of Youngstown, on charges of possession of heroin and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Inside, police found a digital scale, bag of heroin, several assorted rounds of ammunition, security cameras and $730 cash, of which $616 was found on Herring.
