Night watchman gets prison term for raping woman in Pa. church
MEDIA, Pa. (AP) — A night watchman who raped a woman in an eastern Pennsylvania church after letting her take refuge there after she missed a bus will spend nine to 18 months in prison.
The Delaware County Daily Times reports 49-year-old Troy Posey was sentenced by a common pleas court judge Thursday.
The Upper Darby man was convicted in December of raping the 18-year-old woman early March 22, 2014.
Prosecutors say Posey had allowed the woman to stay in a small room at the Bethel Community Baptist Church after she missed the last bus to West Chester and needed a place to stay.
The woman slept on a small couch and woke up to find Posey removing her pants.
The woman says Posey had sex with her three times, then apologized and said he wanted to marry her.
