Huntington bank robber still at large

Police continue their search for a man who robbed a downtown bank early Friday afternoon.

Officers, U.S. marshals and deputies from the Mahoning County Sheriff’s Office searched the streets around the Huntington Bank on Market Street after a man came in at about 1:40 p.m. today and managed to get away with some money.

Youngstown police Detective Sgt. D.P. Scott would not say how much the man took or how he got away. Scott said the robber did not show a weapon but

instead passed a threatening note to a bank teller.

No one was injured, and the bank was closed immediately after the robbery as investigators talked with employees and patrons and collected

evidence.
