Fellows Riverside Gardens hosted Spring Vase Arrangement on May 6. During this class, florist Deby Clark showed her students how to properly create a “vased spring arrangement.”

Clark has been in the florist business for 25 years and owns A Floral Affair, a florist company dedicated to weddings and other similar events.

Classes like the Spring Vase Arrangement are hosted by Clark at Fellows Riverside Gadens four times per year,

Weddings are Clark’s favorite, but she said she enjoys teaching almost as much.

“I really enjoy the teaching because it’s real casual,” Clark said. “We have a lot of fun.”

Throughout the class Clark took a hands-on approach, helping her students along the way so that they were all incredibly satisfied with the outcome of their work. Students commented throughout the class that they liked that she told them what to fix as they went along, rather than waiting until the end and saying it was all wrong.

“I like watching people be surprised at what they can do,” Clark said.

Susan Nespeca, one of the students of the class, kept repeating that she didn’t know she could make such a beautiful spring arrangement.

Debbie Infante said she enjoyed being able to make something better than what she would normally pick up at a grocery store.

Clark recently returned to teaching classes and working on flower arrangements after some time off due to medical reasons.

“It feels good to be back,” Clark said. “I missed this.”

Clark is able to be reached in regards to floral arrangements through her business, A Floral Affair, by contacting her at 330-518-7002.
