City man gets prison sentence for shooting into houses, assault


YOUNGSTOWN — A 30-year-old Bauker Street man was sentenced to 19 years in prison today in Mahoning County Common Pleas Court after he was convicted by a jury in April on seven counts of felonious assault and two counts of shooting into a habitation.

Kevin Wright was convicted of a Feb. 1, 2011, shooting when a man was driving on Jacobs Road looking for his wife, who he thought was having an affair with Wright.

Four of the victim's children were in the SUV at the time of the shooting and two houses were also hit by gunfire.

Judge Maureen Sweeney handed down the sentence.
