President of St.E's Boardman wins ATHENA Award

And this year’s ATHENA award goes to Genie Aubel, president of Mercy Health St. Elizabeth Boardman Hospital.

Aubel accepted the award at the 23rd annual ATHENA Award ceremony presented by the Youngstown/Warren Regional Chamber and The Vindicator on Thursday at Mr. Anthony’s Banquet Centre in Boardman.

Aubel was one of 16 nominated to receive the award, which is presented to an exceptional woman who makes an impact in her career, demonstrates leadership in the community and mentors other professional women.

“This is really an honor,” she said. “It was an honor just to be nominated and classed in with these women.”
