Boardman man faces burglary charge


BOARDMAN — Police arrested a township man on a warrant after officers stopped him near the site of a burglary. 

Kevin Cartwright, 27, of Carter Circle, was arrested Wednesday on a warrant out of Struthers for a probation violation, stemming from an original charge of possession of drug paraphernalia. 

Police responded to apartments at Carter Circle late Wednesday for a call about a burglary in progress. Police found Cartwright near the scene, acting suspicious, according to a police report. 

They also found a screwdriver, a lock punch and a knife in his possession. 

Doors to two apartment reportedly had pry marks near the locks, and one apartment was ransacked with medication missing, according to the report. 

Cartwright was transported to the Struthers police. Township police are investigating the burglary attempt.
